Word Press

One platform that grasped my attention during the class discussion was WordPress. WordPress is a site that allows users to create a website for whatever they want. It provides templates for users to pick from that help them first format their site. They also use a block editor that simplifies the way users can add information to their site. However, it doesn’t seem as simple as it sounds. In my experience starting out my website wasn’t as easy. I found it troubling learning how to create my menu to drop down n display specific pages and how to link my separate blog pages to certain buttons. To get passed this roadblock, I began experimenting with a “junk page” where I tried out numerous options in the block editor and altered them in multiple ways. I changed the colors of the template and text, learned how to change the size of images, and how to alter their alignment on the page. Once, I was able to get comfortable with WordPress’ framework creating my E-Portfolio was as simple as they advertised it to be. This experience taught me just how useful this site can be, especially for people just starting out a small business or blog. After a small amount of work is applied, anyone would be able to navigate the platform and use their site to its fullest potential.
